Our History
Quenemo Baptist has a rich history of service to the Lord. Shortly after a Revival Tent meeting in June 1922. Thirty -one individuals organized a congregation and formed Quenemo Baptist church (originally First Baptist church). August 13th 1922 Evangelist H.A. Manawal was called of God to start a church in Quenemo,Osage county, Kansas
April 1930 H.A. Manawal and the congregation purchased the former Methodist church on the corner of Cedar & south 5th street where it presently reside
Through the years there has been ups and downs. Doing God’s work will always stir up the Devil to fight tooth and nail to see that you don’t accomplish it. Even though QBC has seen difficult times with a fire in 1969 or flooding a number of times the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been the center since 1922.
Moving Forward
QBC is not a museum of saints, but a spiritual hospital for those that are spiritually ill. We make it a priority to get the Gospel out locally & unto the uttermost parts of the world. We reach out through children & Adult Sunday school classes, missions, special Holiday services, Special speakers, Vacation Bible school, jail ministry, childrens church, H.O.P.E in Christ addiction recovery class & with other events taking place throughout the year. We are to help and encourage the wayward stranger. We enjoy singing the traditional hymns & we believe the King James Bible is the preserved Word of God for the English speaking world.
